Raymond Gabriel Semindu
My name is Raymond Gabriel Semindu. I recently completed a Bachelor of Science in Applied Agricultural Extension from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). Although currently unemployed, I participated in the 2024 International Students Summit (ISS) at Tokyo University of Agriculture, which greatly impacted my professional outlook. The summit introduced me to global perspectives on agriculture and sustainability, inspiring innovative ideas that I now share within my community.
I have been supporting local farmers by conducting workshops, farm visits, and setting up demonstration plots to promote sustainable agriculture, emphasizing its environmental and health benefits. The networking opportunities at ISS helped me connect with international experts, enriching my approach to improving Tanzania’s agricultural sector. This experience also strengthened my leadership and communication skills, aiding my advocacy for sustainable farming. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a Master’s degree, bridge gaps between extension services and local farmers, and create an initiative to link sustainable farmers to markets for economic growth.
