Makaranga Michael Charles
Student at SUA
My name is Makaranga Michael Charles, currently an exchange student from Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania, studying at Tokyo University of Agriculture. I began this program in April, and it will conclude in January.
This exchange experience has enriched my life, offering cultural exposure and deepening my knowledge and skills through study tours and classroom learning. My primary focus is on agricultural financing, and the insights I’ve gained in Japan will help me address the challenges Tanzanian farmers face in accessing credit.
I am committed to using my expertise to improve agricultural finance systems in Tanzania, empowering farmers in my community. In the future, I aim to either work with the government or establish a farmers' corporation dedicated to enhancing access to agricultural credit. My goal is to support Tanzanian farmers in securing the resources needed to achieve sustainable growth and resilience in agriculture.
