Grace Ng’endo Miringa
MSc Student: Food Science and Technology at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology
My name is Grace Ng’endo Miringa, a second-year Master's student in Food Science and Technology at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, set to graduate in August 2025. As a licensed Public Health Nutritionist, I completed an online course on "Overview and Organization of Japan Agriculture" by Tokyo University of Agriculture in January 2022, where I gained insights into Japanese agricultural practices, particularly rice cultivation. This experience deepened my interest in agriculture.
I am also an active member of Dedan Kimathi's Green Thumb Movement, a club dedicated to promoting regenerative agriculture. We focus on improving soil health, with our motto, “Healthy soil where life begins.” Through our initiatives, we have grown medicinal herbs that benefit the local community and distributed farm products across Kenyan counties. My goal is to continually engage in agriculture by cultivating my kitchen garden for self-sustenance and promoting healthy eating habits through educational outreach.
