Irene Linus Tarimo

My name is Irene Linus Tarimo, and I am a Program Manager at CutOff Recycle Limited, a waste management company that transforms human hair waste into liquid organic fertilizer. This product, offered at affordable prices, is used by both small and large-scale vegetable farmers to enhance food production. In 2022-2023, I participated in the Tenkai online course, “Overview of Japan Agriculture, and Technologies for Food and Nutrition Improvement in Africa,” which was instrumental in shaping my current role. Through this program, I gained valuable insights into recycling technologies, specifically the use of human hair to produce organic fertilizer. This method, which I have implemented at CutOff Recycle, helps maintain soil structure and preserves nutrients, resulting in healthier soil and higher crop yields. With my recent Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, I am dedicated to advancing food security by promoting sustainable farming practices that support nutrition and productivity.
