Intern: Soil-Plant Spectral Laboratory, CIFOR-ICRAF (World Agroforestry)

Current Status/Position: Research Intern, Soil-Plant Spectral Laboratory, CIFOR-ICRAF (World Agroforestry)

I participated in the Tenkai online course, Comprehensive International Education Program (CIEP), and International Student Summit (ISS) at the Tokyo University of Agriculture in 2023. This experience immensely impacted my professional and personal growth, enhancing my understanding of global agricultural practices, and soil management. The knowledge I gained during the program has been invaluable in my life. I am actively contributing to soil health research in Kenya, focusing on sustainable land use and resource management. The global perspective I gained at the ISS and learning about different food systems in Japan and Asia has enriched my ability to address local environmental challenges with innovative solutions. Moving forward, I plan to further contribute to the sustainable development of global natural resources, specifically focusing on soil health and strategies for adapting to climate change.

Future Plans: I plan to pursue further studies in soil science, with the long-term goal of contributing to global environmental and agricultural sustainability initiatives.
