Beny John Mwamhanga

My name is Beny John Mwamhanga currently in my final year as a veterinary medicine student at the Sokoine university of agriculture and a co-founder of Afya ya mnyama digital startup based in Tanzania. Our startup aims in digital transformation of the livestock sector in Tanzania through a use of a digital platform that helps in monitoring of animal/herd health and associated features such as feeds, water and surrounding environment. I participated at the 23rd International Students Summit (ISS) 2024, as a presenter. ISS 2024 has been a life changing experience program which has impacted my way of thinking, acting and most importantly equipped me with various skills such as problem-solving skills, critical thinking and team working and networking were important. The knowledge obtained from ISS is helping me in coordination on various activities within my startup for instance recently we had an outreach program where we visited high school students and presented them with their role in various sustainability actions. In the future we look forward in expanding our platform’s coverage to more farmers in the country but also to come with more innovations
