Ajwang Livingstone Onyango
I am Ajwang Livingstone Onyango, a contemporary international agricultural developer interested in cutting-edge technological advancements supporting global agricultural growth, climate change mitigation, and Food Nutrition Security in developing nations. I am currently a 2025 Tokyo NODAI Special Exchange Student from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). I participated in the International Students Summit (ISS) and the Comprehensive International Education Program in September 2022. Japan culture modelled me positively as it is based on values and principles. I am establishing a smart farm in Kisumu, aiming to educate and train community members on improving production, environmental sustainability, and food security, while also testing productivity levels with Climate Smart Agriculture inclusion. My master's study plan focuses on fisheries growth and revitalization in Kisumu, Lake Victoria, aiming to demonstrate underutilization of its vast fishing potential despite its economic, health, and nutritional benefits. I intend to continue my studies in Tokyo NODAI through the Special Exchange Program, which has qualified instructors and top-notch facilities. I want to advance my smart village farm to global standards for training, farm demonstrations, research, and extension for all stakeholders. I also intend to develop a comprehensive value-added chain for the fishing sector.
