Adelaide Nanyama Wabwile

Agripreneur and employee at Ketha AgriTech

I work with Ketha AgriTech, a company focusing on digitization in tea, macadamia, and dairy value chains. My role involves helping dairy cooperatives to adopt digital tools to improve efficiencies, streamline processes and ultimately increase productivity. I am also an Agripreneur with the National Value Chain Development Project in Bungoma County, Kenya. I work with farmers to encourage sustainable practices and support the local agricultural economy.

I participated in the Tenkai Online Course in 2022, which provided an insightful overview of Japanese agriculture, especially rice cultivation and mechanization. This program broadened my perspective on agricultural innovations and demonstrated the potential of advanced methods in transforming agricultural productivity. Additionally, I attempted learning Japanese online. Learning the Japanese language and culture highlighted the importance of cultural diversity, making me more appreciative of cross-cultural exchanges in the field of agriculture.

My experience from the Tenkai program has motivated me to promote digital transformation in agriculture locally. By integrating these lessons, I assist cooperatives and farmers in adopting tech-based solutions to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Looking ahead, I aim to champion sustainable agricultural practices, advocating for technological adaptation within Kenya’s farming community.
